Lockpicktools pick gun good or not?

Hey. Is this a good pick gun? http://www.lockpicktools.com/pickguns.htm
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Slimpickingsooooo has 2 videos about it. But his in the video is reflective like. I like that. I don't like that blue green thing that is in the lockpicktools.com picture. But anyway, has anyone had any experience with this gun? Good reviews or bad?

least it wasn't his first post! Guns are a locksmith tool, they are no fun to pick with. Yes they are good, i use a lockaid / magestic gun on the job to great effect when picking fails or i need in fast, evictions etc.

saying that every experianced 'picker' has normally got one to tinker with and play with, but after a few goes it gets sold or put in the draw to never see daylight again!

And to answer your question: I've never heard of that pick gun's manufacturer, so I's consider the quality a little suspect.

If anyone else has heard of the manufacturer, I'd also love to hear a review.

Pick guns can be fun and useful at times but like parapilot said, most of us who have been picking for a long time rarely ever use it. The only time I bring it out is when I find myself in a total bind and can't seem to pick the lock in question but thats only happened just a few times in the past.

I remember reading this here, so I don't exactly have the best source on this and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Southern Specialties was started by someone who was previously involved with SouthOrd? Does that ring a bell for anyone else? In any case, I'd imagine the design is fairly similar.

If anyone else has heard of the manufacturer, I'd also love to hear a review.

Assuming that Southern Specialties manufacture their own guns (maybe a bold assumption), they're a pretty safe bet. You'll find many good reviews of their products here. Obviously they are not on the "high end" of things, but they are about on-par with SouthOrd, in my experience.

I bought their Falle Safe clone picks and I'm very happy with them. I could care less where they came from.

Question-Do pick guns defeat SFIC cylinders? Is that them? They are something liek that, they have like two cylinders, one that re keys it and one opens the lock. Well, I mean two shear lines and what looks like two cylinders.

Probably the best one I have used is the "LockAid" gun by Majestic. I have one that is so old it is marked Hesse-Majestic and has a chrome type finish. It still works outstanding to this day.

Well the kind of bind I'm talking about is when I do something stupid like modify my locks the way it wasn't meant to be and end up making manual picking impractical and I really need to be able to disassemble the lock for a future project without destroying it cos I don't want to have to buy a new one.

Depending on a pick gun to get you out of trouble is kind of like asking your teacher to solve your math problem for you just cos it's too hard for you to figure out. It doesn't do you any good.

I'm not trying to be critical of your view points or anything. I'm just trying to help you out so you don't pick up any bad habits or learning methods that can hinder your progress in this sport.

O no I totally see what you are saying but most of all, I just want one because they look really cool. Kinda like having a calculator watch in math class, cool, and ya cheating, but still cool.

I have purchased 10 different pick guns,only one lasted more than 6 months the locklaid as it has a different snap action and it resets it self after
each use.I took apart my other pickguns to see what broke a small tab made from cheap white metal was the problem it cost me over a thousand
