I've been in the locksmith business for over 25 year and out of all spinners out there
the A-1 will out perform all in speed and torque. in fact if your not careful you can break tails pieces
with the A-1.

I've use the PS-2 plug spinner, with a wisper blade insert.

Very powerful and good tool!

I have used all the above types of spinners/reverters and found that the preffered for me is the gun style. It has lots of torque & always spun the cylinder back without the top pins dropping back, also if the lock is a bit stiff/gummed up it cranks it round with no probs! the rytan style spinner has let me down on torque plenty of times, but is easy to carry around. If your going to use it all the time spend the extra, if not go the cheepie!

I have a Peterson and I really like it. It's expensive, but if you can get it on sale it is definitely worth it. Very nice, compact tool.

Hey datagram, can you bring your peterson spinner to tomorrow's meet?

I've tried most in my 25 years and still keep going back to the A1 Plug Spinner. It is simple, durable, works better than any other I have tried and fits flat in a pick case.

It has worked great so far with no problems.

We all "learn" our tools and have preferences. I carry a few spinners in my bag with the DINO used for cars primarily. I find this works well when using Lishi picks and picking to the locked position. I like the position and grip from the "gun shape". For domestic cylinders I use a HPC. Both have advantages and drawbacks. I suppose it depends on what you are going to be using yours for the most and could even be fine tuned to the exact type of cylinders.

The price is kind of high, but the Peterson plug spinner is about the best I've seen. The A1 is also very good. Where the Peterson shines is when you have to open a trailer hitch, or a Detex unit. If you don't have a key you have to pick the lock multiple times. When this happens, you just crank up the Peterson and it cuts down on the amount of times you have to pick the lock.

I use the A1 as well, I've tried a few and just stuck with it. The HPC flip it is pretty good as well though, I would like to try one out in the future.
