hi pals just for funovation of mine, a plug follower the has a "headlight that can ease in rekeying double profile cylinders especially the long one. it will also help a lot to beginners in viewing the chamber holes in installing springs and top pins. regards

Great idea, I like it very much. Let me see if I find an old flash light lying around...

Cheers :)

Found a flashlight that fits tight in a euro cylinder. I'll see if I can cut a round piece of plexiglass to cover the exposed lamp on the tip and I'm done

Thanks again for sharing this great idea with us yono!

Cheers :)

Nice!

Not quite as convenient, but I've used the "clear" hot-glue sticks in the past for a similar effect: they're cheap, and if you hold a flashlight up to the end, they light up quite well for their entire length. (I usually put a quick wrap of cellophane tape around them, just to stop any glue from rubbing off inside the cylinder.)

I made one for my boss, he supplied me with a Duracell penlight with two batteries and perfectly fit in a euro profile cylinder. i remove one battery, cut off the nose tip of the tube, fabricated a 3/16 clear plastic, countersunk a bit on the plastic for the light correct centerline, applied super glue on the plastic to be in place, fabricate a dummy battery extension, and reassemble. its good.

The Maglite Solitaire (single AAA cell) makes a pretty good lighted following tool. You might need a shim to help bridge between the light and some cyllinder plugs, but it works.
