I'm a total begginer and today i've bought this lock. Any tips from anyone on how to do it? This is the lock picking set i own.

akop, just pick it... it's a basic cylinder with average tolerances, don't think too much about it and you'll be sweet. It has spools, so read up about those and just have at it. Don't get me wrong, if you're having genuine trouble with it then feel free to give details and ask, but the basic stuff you need to know is all over the forum already.

What pick (or technique i.e. raking) do you think should be suitable to use on this certain lock?

I've spent several hours yesterday, but i'm still eager to do it.

Whatever hook you normally use... if you're really super stuck you could try raking it into false set and tidying up the spools from there but 9 times outta 10 you shouldn't need to. Try to be as slow and gentle as possible when setting the spools and keep the pick shaft clear of the pins behind it as per usual to make sure you don't overset anything. Providing you're gentle this won't be an issue but it's worth mentioning cos a lot of people tend to be careless when setting spools at first.

When in false set you should make sure to only push on the pin which gives immediate binding and counter rotation, you will get counter rotation on every spool pin because they'll all wanna straighten up as you push them but there is still a correct order. The true binding pin will be pretty obvious, the rest will have a slight amount of give before they start to bind so leave those alone.

So... pick it like a normal lock, feeling for binding pins and setting them. After 2 or 3 pins it should drop into false and you can go from there... you might find that it drops into false as soon as you set one pin, which is because most locks have a 4 spool + 1 regular setup and the regular one will give the most noticable binding. That usually isn't the first pin in the true binding order though so you might wanna consider resetting and feeling to see if any of the others bind before that one. Sounds like a lot of work but it is a lot faster in the long run cos it means you won't have to keep coming back to the regular pin until you get it in the right order.

Practice makes perfect... once you get the hang of it you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Dear Cyberfox:

Do you anything about the new Titan T 200?
Somebody give me one, and I can't find anything about it.

I tink it's a very new product, cause there is a SAMPLE stamp in the side of the lock, and there is no information about it on the net, only a flyer on the manufacturer's website.

I want to make a review about this lock and picking video, but I need for some info about the security solutions etc, for the thorough presentation.

Titan K55 K66 T100RX and T200 is very new product,only few months on market.

This cylinders is primarily designed to resist bumping.K55 and K66 is dimple cylinder,T100RX is combination of dimple and classic pin tumbler.
T200 is definitely something new from Titan.This is combination of dimple and some form of side bar if I good understand.

I also contact two of my colleague who is locksmith and ask him about this lock but they don`t see this lock yet.

If I got any diagram,photo or video of this lock I share this material with rest of the lockpickers world

And one thing for the end of this post.If someone have ability to pick anything above K6 they are truly locpicker master

My pickig time is ~3 minute, with my homemade dimple pick. The truth about the upper locking bar it is not so good, the wafers can move into open position when you picking it. @ monday I try to make a video about the picking method. When I picked first, I don't need to make anything with them, but first we opened with the key, simulating a normal using.

Once I opened Titan K1 whit bump key which is home made. I try open about 30 min. But I not use bump hammer than a screwdriver grip. Lock was completely new.

Last few day I intensive practice picking of Titan K5 cylinder.(5 pin, dimple cylinder and very narrow keyhole). I successfully open 3 of this cylinders and now I need average time of 20-25min to pick this cylinder.

So how how many of you picking this cylinder, with which tool and how many time you need for this.
