I'm spending a few days in a beautiful region, Liguria. I visited a place called 5 Terre, 5 small and characteristic villages on the coast. There's a very romantic pedestrian way called "via dell'amore", love way, where I found this cool lock. I'm trying to find a shop that sells these padlocks... I want one for my collection! Cheers

Nice find, Femurat! Now you´ll have to find a beautiful bridge, lock it and throw away the key!

Well, actually I plan to pick it just a couple of times and then put it aside... and when my new house will be finished I'm going to lock it to its fence. What's better than starting a new "lover's lock" point on my own gate??? Cheers

OMG! That would be wonderful as a wedding present for my fiancée! I was gonna take her to europe anyway! Must make a mental note to visit that village to get one of those locks .... so where is this place anyway ... prolly should have asked that first

Hey MacGnG1, great idea a visit to Cinque terre. I shot the first picture in Manarola. The most famous, romantic and full of padlocks footpath is via dell'amore. It's a part of the complete blue path, if you want to walk a lot it runs from Monterosso to Riomaggiore trough Vernazza, Corniglia and Manarola. But I suggest you to get a full day ticket and travel by boat to visit all the five villages. I have the receipt of the padlock at home, so I'll let you know exactly where you can get it this evening. Let me know when and where are you going in Italy, maybe we can have a walk or even a dinner together Rick you're just envious because you went to the Maldives instead of Liguria and didn't find any padlock Cheers

I almost forgot about this... You can buy the padlock for 8 Euro from "ACCOGLIENZA via dell'amore" at Manarola train station. It's a place full of souvenirs and local products. Cheers

Finally framed my padlock, I'll hang it on the wall in my new house soon. Due to the reflection on the glass, I could title this picture "Self portrait with padlock". Cheers

When I showed this post to my girlfriend, she said: Oh.. Well, I don't think this would "lock" our love for ever. Even if we throw away the key, you will always be able to pick it if we break up! So let's not put our fortune on a padlock! P.S. - How did you get it? I see from the dates that it wasn't on the days you where there right?
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise. - GWiens2001
