[Noob question] How do I know how many pons have a cisa lock

Postby loscamos » Sat Feb 25, 2012 7:55 pm

Hello, I got 5 bump keys, one for every cisa cylinder lock. How do I know how many pins have a cisa lock so I can use the right bump key? Because all the keys looks almost the same. Thanks.

Hello and welcome :)

A very simple pin excercise for beginners is to count how many pins are in a lock by slowly gliding a hook pick inside the keyway
You just have to build up some feeling and you'll start counting pins in no time :D

Cheers

I can't really get my bump keys work. I bought it made up from a professional website, so it must work. I tryied 20 minutes with a little bit of pression and more and more, but I really can't make it work.

Cisa locks have spool pins so you need to use a different technique to bump them. Spool pins are all about timing and luck, would be a lot faster just to pick it. And if you wanna know how many pins are in it just look at the cylinder although cisa are generally 5 pin... the keys you have are probably all 5 pin aswell, just cut at slightly different depths.
