I know there are lp101 members here that list minneapolis as their place, I am wondering if they would like to have a once a year get together, with anyone who wants to come from whatever area. I can't provide space that I know of right now, so it would help If someone else got interested enough to handle all that. All I can bring right now is the suggestion. Perhaps a farm/country place, with space would be a nice place to do it.
Im thinking of this less as an ongoing club and just as a once a year meet and greet/networking and maybe bring some locks for show and tell or whatever. If anyone takes the ball and runs with it they can shape it the way they like.
Unjust? Trip Doctor? who am I forgetting, theres actually probably a group large enough and varied but with this interest in common.

Well with three people we could do this in some park shelter or cafe, whatever, I say lets not let the lack of interest by others stop us, 3 is critical mass for me. I will offer to make a pair of bogotas and someone could make a video of the process, I have a tripod or two, and at this time I do not have a good video cam, but I may soon get one. The wolves den cafe where I met DB years ago is now defunct. perhaps if someone is a student at the U, a room over there could be reserved. You guys have suggestions,? don't be shy.

Yeah, move it, I sometimes find the new interface difficult, it dosen't identify the thread and I can't find the index page after first seeing it on entering the site, I was use to the old one and the spammers have got in here now.

I think we could probably reserve a room at a library? It would be free...
Also, I think we should advertise to the local Defcon group and we probably would get some more people as well.
I'm really excited about this...
Should we shoot for around the end of August?

I just found this site when browsing the Defcon site. I to would be interested in getting together with fellow lock pickers from around here. My skill is moderate at best, but I am willing to contribute and help where I can.
If this actually gets rolling I could ask my school (ITT) if they would let me use a classroom for a night. That way we could also get other students (And staff) interested.
As for talking to the local DC612 group I think that's a great idea. I am currently planing on attending their meeting this month (Which just happens to be on lock picking and physical security) so I could toss the idea around with them.

I live in Andover not extremely close to Minneapolis or Saint Paul but I'm down there often enough. I have a house in Andover with two adjacent empty bedrooms, decent sized adjacent living room and dining room. It could house a fair amount of people.

It seems like there are a couple of people that are interested. Do people maybe want to post times and days that work, pick a place, and then maybe we could set up a meeting?

I live North of the cities but would be interested in making it down to meet somewhere if others are still interested. I've got a pick set (and am waiting on the Open Locksport set from Schuyler) and only a couple of locks for now.
Anyone??
