Holy crud!

It seems Shrub wasn't the only one moving up in the post count hall of fame.

Good to be back.
Time has passed, and I have loved many women. And as they've held me close, and asked if I will remember them, I've said, "Yes, I will remember you." But the only one I've never forgotten is the one who never asked.

Back in the day

Postby txherper » Fri Jul 18, 2008 12:06 pm

When I was learning to pick locks I took high quality locks apart and picked them with one tumbler, then added a tumbler at a time. There was a 7 habits post about visualizing everything. I found that it was best to detach the mind and let the fingers work. Watch TV and pick a lock without paying too much attention. I got very good at it. When concentrating on the lock, I took a much more time to open it.

Wadded2 mentioned picking in the dark. Like literally 'in the dark'? In assuming thats to get really focused on whats happening in the lock right? So far i have a hard time not looking at my hands- to check how deep my hook is, where my finger is on the tension tool, etc... I'll have to give a shot this morning with my eyes closed to see how that feels. Thanks!

Yep, eyes closed can be helpful, as you're not really seeing what you're doing anyway. <yoda voice> Feel you must what you do! Yes, Sight, help you it will not.</yoda voice>

what helped me a lot was feeling the pin going up, relieve a little tension ever so slightly, as the pins about to clear bring in the tension a tiny bit till you hear the click. Took some practice. Btw great post!
