Hi guys, after browsing for awhile decided to join, I got interested in lock picking because I wanted to build a certain set of urban survival skills.

Like I said, I'm new to lock picking, been doin it for about a four weeks but do have a few locks under my belt. Pretty sure I've been registered for far too long to just make this now, but anyway...

I've been picking on and off for about 2 years (?) and I'm just getting back into it.

I've had a basic lockpicking set in my endeavors , which I no longer have, and am planning on getting a Southord set soon.

introduced myself in the regional forum, in the boston area thread. just got introduced to lockpicking at The Next HOPE at the lockpicking village. love it, and looking to expand a bit. hoping to find a source of inexpensive locks to practice on, any suggestions are welcome.

Howdy ho Everybody!
My carreer is now officially started! Some 30 yrs ago I knew a couple of guys who were real virtuoses on lock picking. Some months ago I bumped into youtube videos, got facinated... I ordered some Southord sets and started to do some serious lock picking... wow.

My first padlock (Tylock Security) was opened in 5 - 10 seconds! Incredible! And after that - nothing! Hah haa, not a chance! I have been picking for weeks different padlocks and other locks. Fingers litteraly bleeding ... nothing. Unbelievable. :-(

But now, I started to get open some locks. It's a real challenge. I got opened some easier padlocks first with some kind of self designed raking technique and now I get some lock opened with the "real" picking... Still, it is not at all as easy as advertised! Not for me!

Well, that's my story so far. Now I start reading the topics!

Just starting locksmithing courses after 12 years driving 18 wheelers, 10 years working in mines, and a turn in the USAF after high school. I am a beekeeper and make my own equipment for my use and for sale and after a back injury had to leave the trucking business and start over again this late in life. I will check in and try to gleen all the knowledge I can from the members of this site.

This is James Chen from Australia, I just started my lock and picking interest and hope I will learn a lot of stuff from this site while I would make some contribution to this forum.

Hello to all!
A'm a hobbist-lockpicker, noob, I started to be interested in lockpicking a few years ago, but to this day I only made 2 lockpicks (rake,half-diamond) ,tension-wrench and a few bump-keys.
This site is the best I could find on this topic for years! Lot of tutorials, lot of helps from members!
Congratulations for this forum !

Hello community!

I've been a long time lurker, and just decided to stuck my nose out to the wind and see about getting physically started with some serious lockpicking. I've been able to pick a few locks with random items by fluke, but I really hope to get started.

Woo!

Greetings all,

I discovered this forum while on watch on the ship and became immediately intrigued. I've been picking locks for a little over a year, but I've known the principle for several.

I figured I'd make an account to share and retrieve as much information as I can.

:)

Hi.

Newbie here. I find lockpicking to be a fun, challenging sport of finesse and wits. I've picked all sorts locks since childhood, and am eager to find new challenges.. Growing up, I made my own picks, since there was no way for me to buy them, and this was well before the Internets (thank you Bush for that one :P).

Tinkering with locks Since the 60's, lot of ideas from the Movies (Picking Locks, Hotwiring Cars, Houdini, Defusing Bombs) Tried to duplicate All/Most of what I saw. Instead of Going Criminal, I started a Security Business, Alarms work where locks Fail. Also handy when a Manager loses the keys to their Panel, Electric Gate or Equipment requiring a Key. I love Puzzles, Locks are just puzzles.
Love to learn, Love to teach.

Hi - I just joined and am just taking lock picking as my main hobby ;) So I suppose I will be trawling around, reading posts, comments and guides. I might come up with stupid questions though.
