Absolute Emergencies

Postby horsefeathers » Wed Oct 18, 2006 10:14 pm

We (UK people) all know what a shower this lot are.....but I am sure I am not alone in having occasionally done a bit of work for them (4 jobs in 9 months).

Just wondered if anyone has been 'fortunate' to get hold of any other telephone number for them other than that office main number. All calls have to go thru there and if you need accounts, for example, they have to send an email to the accounts dept to get them to ring you - which of course they never seem to do. Ask for their direct number and they wont give it out. Makes you laugh when they all share the same floor and can see each other (they told me that!).

regards

I've done a couple of jobs for them too, unfortunately!, and I totally agree about the accounts dept. crap. they are fuckin' parasites that lot!
I'd rather take the chance of my business going under than make any more money for that lot. I mean, 40% are they for real. You do all the work. They take 60%.

Dropped

Postby CaptB » Fri Oct 20, 2006 10:09 pm

I dropped Absolute aswell. Total waste of time.
Take to much money and poorly supported, i was getting a poor call ratio, by the time I completed the jobs it was worth less than £20 an hour. They also charged a £3 lock out at over £80 which is when i called it a day.
Life is to short to go wrong

i feel the same, i'd rather have no work at all rather than make them rich. i did one job for them and decided to see how long it took to get paid meanwhile i made excuses why i couldnt go to new jobs. needless to say i didnt get paid. im now off their books.
