So, I finally gave in to technology and got a Droid ERIS. I've been looking around for any locksmith or related apps out there but the only one that I can find is the Locksmith Locator from Creative One Media and Pop-A-Lock, but that's for the iPhone. Does anyone know of any locksmith related apps out for the Android OS. I've been thinking about what kinds of apps would be useful and the only ones that I can come up with are a key blank identifier, a marketplace app for a locksmith supply company so that you can search and order a part from the jobsite, but past that, maybe a database app for unlocking cars with pics and maybe a way for users to upload videos with tips. Anyone have any other thoughts?

HPC has a car opening document that might be loaded.
Maybe copies of key catalogs?

New Droid user here too, but long time smart phone user. What i did with some of my documents i use a lot at work (L.E.) was to convert them to PDF and downloaded a free PDF reader from adobe. I can quickly access it complete with photos. I don't know if you already have your documents converted or not but its just another option!

If you subscribe to locksmith ledger you can use there codesource program for $35 a year online which i can access with my iphone and ipad over the internet on a job. Also i converted my Auto Smart book for originating keys for vehicles to pdf and downloaded a pdf reader for my ipad and iphone viewing.

I realize that this thread is a little old, but since I'm both a locksport enthusiast and an Android developer... What do you need?
I've been looking for a new Android project for a while, so if there's a need for some locksmith-related Android Apps, let me know what it is and I'll write it, if possible. Reply here or PM me with your thoughts.

How about an app which uses the camera to create a virtual xray by superimposing an actual xray pic of a lock over what the camera shows on screen so it appears you are actually taking an xray, could be useful for drill points etc but you would have to know what lock you where dealing with and preselect it
When picking starts to hurt take your finger out

An app that you put in the key profile, it uses the space and depth as reference and works out the cuts on the key... that would be pretty cool right

Woops, forgot this bit. Once you put in the profile take a picture of the key and it works out the cuts on the key using the space and depth.

Looks like I didn't actually submit my last post...
I'll have to look into both of these ideas a bit. They're both technically possible, though they would require some pretty advanced image processing and machine vision which is probably a bit beyond me at the moment.
