Instacode

Postby rivalryan » Wed Jul 25, 2012 6:57 pm

Hi I recently purchased a copy of instacode and there seems to be some inconsistencies with regards to cutting keys by code, e.g. I entered the code 3579 (taken from the OEM key) and the manufacturer (opel) the correct key blank is shown HU100, the bitting reads 4423 2134 though the correct bitting should read 4421 2334 as I have decoded the lock, the correct code for this bitting in instacode is shown as 5303.

Has anyone else come accross similar things in this program?

I have also had the same issue on a kawasaki key

From looking at those cuts I would of thought that the lock was re-keyed and the existing wafers were changed around but if the key you have worked it and doesn't have those cuts then it is an error. There are a couple which is expected with how much stuff is on Instacode, best thing to do is email WH software and let them know so they can fix it. They do also put in some fake key codes so they can see who is copying there code series but you wouldn't know if you didn't go looking for them.
