i am looking at starting to pick some abus locks in a lil bit what would be the best pick to use with em? i wanna know so i can make one quickly, i only got a short hook, a tension wrench, and my freind broke my diamond pick. i kinda wanna know before i buy one so i can get it ready for it and instead of making a whole bunch just make one or 2

It all comes down to personal preference. I mostly use hooks but its best to try out all the options open to you. Like anything really spend as mcuh as you can afford on a decent set.

some of those abus locks can be a bit tight, i picked 2 last week that i could only use the short hook on. My abus 41/40 you can only get at with a short hook or a diamond, and i couldnt open her with a diamond

That depends on the model. The 45/65 series padlocks can be raked open most of the times, for the 60 and the 85 padlocks SPP with a standard hook is better. Some of the Diskus can be raked, but with a bit of practice, SPP is faster (standard hook also). Concerning the Eruo-cylinders, the C83 is sometimes rakeable, but in my opinion this is THE lock to practice SPP with "security pins" for a beginner. It is also picked faster with SPP most times (about 10% of the C83 and 85 are sneaky to pick due to coincidental good tolerances or a nasty key). For EC750/EC850/EC75/XP2 use the dimple-key pick of your choice, many pick with half-diamonds held sideways. XP1 and TSB5000 depend on the key cuts, but a very fine hook and a small half-diamond inserted sideways can help you here. The active side-pins of the TSB5000 are easily set with a hook. Leave your hands off of the EP10, as it comes apart very easily (comparable to a picked Keso 2000 at 90°). [Note: the EP10 comes faster than the Keso, at about 30-45°, if I remember correctly, so be careful if you want to try anyway]. But these (EC*/XP*/TSB5000/EP10) are definitely not locks to start picking with.
For most of the others, standard snake or hook should do fine.

yes member of ssdev.
but not so long yet(1 year)
the abus c83 also can be opened when a key is inserted on one side
simply pick the other side open,then use a halfdiamond,insert it all the way till you reach the nose then carefully turn and the lock will open with a key inserted on the other side.
