Okay, i know that is isnt the dream tool, but for a few locks at my place, they work pretty good.

Looks like a pretty promising start! Try filing the round edges flat and parallel to each other to make more space in the keyway for your pick. :D

i love home made tools.. there are lots of benefits to oneself.. it improves your creativity, you become more familiar of its performance quickly. keep on doing and improving your projects..sooner, you will say ..this is what i want it to be.. goodluck.

You have access to a real metalwork shop.
that and some tutorials from the different forums here should quickly advance your 'maker'
abilites,
