very idiotic question!!(but i need to know)

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

hey.
when you have a lock that is locked for many whole turns (ex my garage door takes 6 turns to open) do you have to re pick it every time??? I have heard of plug spinners are they used for this function cos after all once you picked it if you turn the plug 270 degrees youre now on the wrong side of the plug so my head tells me that you can spin it.....
cheers

Yes. Plug spinners can be used for two purposes, and that situation is one of them (i.e., locks that need more than one rotation of the cylinder to open/lock).

The other time you'd use a plug spinner is if you pick the lock in the "wrong" direction. (You'll find that some locks can be more easily picked in one direction than the other. If so, you can just pick the lock in the easiest direction and then use a plug spinner to get you going in the direction you want.)

To be honest, my experience with commercial plug spinners has been hit-and-miss, so I wouldn't say that there's anything magic about them. To be honest, I've had as much luck with a tension wrench and a rubber band. :)

yes you would have to pick it several times... and yes a plug spinner would prevent you from having to pick it several times... :)
