my first bogota

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

my first bogota

Postby Gurney » Wed Jul 25, 2012 1:32 pm

so this morning after reading about them for a few months i decided to make a bogota pick
i started with a hacksaw blade and cut out the basic shape with a set of tin snips (i haven't seen anybody here doing this but it worked great and saved mountains of time cutting the hacksaw blade)

then i finished the pick with a tricorner file and polished it with my knife sharpener

and since my immediate family doesn't approve of my hobby :( i attached it to an exacto knife and super glued it to the inside of a pen which also makes an awesome handle i know a lot of the people like the stealthy picks

i keep the pen together with a piece of gorilla tape

this thing is amazing i opened my front door in about a minute and a half , bolt and all using a flat blade screw driver for a tension wrench
please let me know if there is anything i can do to make it any better

I wish I could look at the photos, but I hope you did some good polishing as well. The bogota has got to be one of the best rakes on the market, and I believe the design is spot on. I rake open locks I couldn't pick normally. Hope you enjoy and I love knowing people are howebrewing!

Well, you could do it better not to use it on your own front door... It doesn´t help your immediate family to approve this hobby if you mess around with locks in use. And flat screwdriver as tension wrench is going to leave more marks to your lock than spesific tw.

Nice stealth pen anyway!
