Master 179 & 175

Postby MarkMcGrath » Wed Aug 01, 2012 6:15 pm

Ok I finally got my something special the day before atticRR's gift came in the mail. I happen to get 2 different size/thickness knife tools. I believe I have a basic understanding of them, and how to use them. With that said I was given two locks and can't search the right areas to find info on these locks.

1. Master 175 FBACD padlock, locked (no one remembered the code and someone locked it. It has a small skelton style keyway on the side. This is a former unit lock, that someone left me to see if I could decode it, and possibly return and recode for the unit.

2. Master 179 padlock which is coded to 1911, by a marine. He left me the padlock to play with in hopes I could figure how to open the other one.

The 175 has very little space to actually slide the tool in while the 179 has ample space. Can anyone tell me anything about these locks, and there weaknesses or which side of the dial to feel on (if that is possible)?

I had the same problem you are, I have unlock two of them by the time consuming starting at 0000 and moving up. I believe that you can slip a knife blade inbetween the numbers but which ones I would have to do the research. I also plan on tearing this one down and when I do I will upload some pictures

Unfortunately, we can't discuss decoding on open forums.

Yes, please refrain from bypass or combination manipulation techniques in the public forum.
