My father-in-law was in the London brigade for 30+ years.

He mainly used FB keys and other fast methods of NDE (Unsure how much of which I can openly mention here. 'Latch slipping' and the like)

Sadly his/their time had been 'wasted' over the years by locked out drunks a fair few times.

Might explain why firemen like to throw a heel in too ;)
