removing padlock shackle?

Hi all,

I want to remove the shackle of a padlock. My ultimate goal is to replace the shackle by a custom one. I am thus looking for a non-destructive method that will allow me to re-assemble the padlock in working condition withouth the shackle.

The padlock that I am targeting is the Abus Series 65, since this is one of the most common types of padlock where I live (Europe).

I also have access to the Yale common brass padlocks if that would be easier.

Just use the Abus 83 series which has a replaceable shackle.
