A Good Next Step After Masterlock

Postby Darkness1569 » Sat Jul 14, 2012 10:19 pm

I have been picking Masterlock and Brinks locks and I was wondering if getting a Abus 85/40 and a Abus 83/45-200 Kwikset would be a good jump or if they would be the same as the Masters and Brinks(as far as difficulty)? My best Masterlock is a 6230. Or should I just jump to a Schlage Primus? Thank you

I have a few Abus 83/45's and I have to say they were a nice step up from basic Brinks and Master locks. American padlocks (look for the older, square keys that indicate they weren't manufactured by Master) are also quite a nice challenge for someone in your position. After that you can start on some SFIC cores (like Best or Arrow)--that's what I'm trying to learn before I move up to Schlage Primus or Medeco....

That's the progression I followed, so I can only attest to what worked for me. Hope that helps.
