DISC PAD LOCK

I had a little trouble myself to pick this lock i did do it in the end. but try this method.. put a little tension on it with a bar then get a peice of 2x2 wood about a foot long and tap the lock on the side opposite the pins as if you were trying to push them up.. i have used this method to open loads of types of lock and it has worked great. it works on the same princaple as a pick gun but is a lot cheaper have fun trying this.

thanx for the tip i have herd of "rapping"a lock with a plastic hammer but have never tryed it because i havent heard too much about the method being used with success, so now ill have to try it :0)

Guys.. I just got the padlock...the pins on it are on the botton of the hole.. so in order to set it, you have to push the pins down. I believe it's a 5 pin tumbler. There is a hole on the back side of it as well. With the tension tool, do I actually hold down 1 or 2 of the pins or do I just use the tension wrench for the top part and use it like a key to turn it??? And what exactly does "bind" mean??? i have a basic lock pick set.. with a diamond, ball, rake, & Hook. So how would I go about this??? I'm thinking getting Southords's Electric pick gun... Can someone help me??? I have pictures of the lock if anyone wants me to email it to them because I couldn't figure out how to add the image on here?!??! Thanks!!! Jerry

You could push the pins down, but cant you just hold the lock so the pins are at the top? Easier for a beginner.

Tension tool can go in a number of places, but we encourage beginners to put it at the opposite end of the keyways than the pins. No it is not meant to push any of the pins down, its sole job is to turn.

And what exactly does "bind" mean???

I use the word bind to mean when a pin is "binding" between the two holes and so it cant move up or down. Also when it has serated or mushroom pins it is more likely these will bind. How i use it, but could be wrong.

No dont get it you should learn how the lock works etc.. first. And manual picking will help you learn this. All depends on why you are picking in the first place.

Find a site to host your image and then just post the url here. Some of us use www.photobucket.com but you can use any webpage server you like. I still kind of don't understand the term binding.. though?? Which 2 holes are you talking about??? I will go through the MIT Guide. On the package for this lock it says "Anti-Pick Tumblers". does it matter??
When I tried picking the lock the first pin stay @ a certian position and the second and third one wouldn't stay down, how come?? I could feel the spring keep pushing it back up. I used the tension tool @ the opposite end of the pins. The way this lock is designed is when the key is inserted, it's used to turn the actual lock and the top part of the lock turns with the key so you can literally open and close it with the key.. there is no spring action or anything of the sort. Once again thank you for ALL your help!!

Hey...

For Binding, i'm still reading the MIT guide... but for the security pins.. .does it mean it's on the second pin on the inside in which you can't see??? because when I look through the keyhole... it just looks like normal pins?!?!? If so, how do I bypass it???

If you do look through the crypto site it will state if it is a picture of a top or bottom security pin. I think this answers that question. How to defeat, practice. Other techniques are mentioned in the forum so i suggest you do searches and browse. Do not expect it all to come to you at once, start with a simple lock and work up. But don't not try a lock because it has security pins, just also have an easy lock to keep your motivation up.

I tried the easy lock and picked it... but i'm trying to move the next one... this is the only other one I got... so i'm trying...

While picking this lock I noticed, all the pins were all pushed down.. I can see straight through the keyhole, but the lock still doesn't turn??? Is th@ possible/?? i've been using a rake with a tension tool @ the opposite end to pick it and was still unsuccessfull... What does it mean when All the pins are pushed in??

Heaps of posts on pick guns. And if you cant work out how to manually pick then going straight to the pickgun kinda avoids the point of this forum. If you do a search there are a heap of posts on pickguns. Also you can go to the forum on Picks (automatic).

Your success will vary of course with skill, and depending on how the lock is mounted. Your lock looks like a cheap knockoff of the Master knockoff of the Abus locks. If your trying to "practice" for a battle with the Abus, this lock probably wont be much help.
