yeah i agree small van seems ok till you get your
tools stock etc in then theres no room to swing a cat.
if your doing board ups, as well as locks go for a transit size
maybe with a frail on the side if your gonna do commercial
board ups! shops etc,as you'll get whole sheets on the side
plus any glass if your glazing as well?
transit,mercedes sprinter,renault personal preference really
on the work you want to do.
hope it helps

Hi people,
Thats a question i been looking at. I wanted to start off with a small van been looking at a 2004 berling and a 2001 peugeot. They are both nice little motors and are basically the same van jut badged different. Ideally i would like a transit sized but don't want to bite off more than i can chew.

Im due a new van now,my Renault Trafic is out of warranty and done 92k.I was thinking of downsizing and getting a VW Caddy or Ford Connect, but i just know if i got a smaller one id regret it in no time.So i reckon its going to be a VW Transporter.Anyone got the new model and if so how good is it ?

New model is supposed to be even better than the old one, if getting the disel get the turbo one if you have any hills, the big climbs up and down round my area make me wish i had a turbo, my engine is 2.4 but still slows a lot with the weight i carry.

Your choice of van is dependant on what area you are in as well, as what work you will be doing. In london the bigger the van the longer its gonna take youto get to the job, but the smaller you go the less you can carry. Its a trade off thats down to your personal choice
I am pushed for space at home (too many baby toys )so my van is also going to be my workshop. So i need the bigest small van i can get, so ive opted for a swb transit, which cant be beten on load space for its size.
Its worth looking at a new van, you get warrenties, breakdown cover etc. Also leasing is a good option, you get a new van, and only have to make monthly payments, and its yours at the end but you pay the list price since no interest is added over the course of the lease
The best value van on the market (in my opinion) at the moment is the Transit Hallmark, you get a transit with all the extras, for the price of the bog standerd model, cant be bad !
But it is worth spending a little more for the larger powerplant and higher performance gearing

Just to follow on from that, parking a large van in London must be a nightmare some a smaller van may be better if in that situation.
Dont forget if you use motorways or duel carriageways a commercial van (one over 3.5 ton) is also subject to lower speed limits and also needs a commercial MOT at an approved commercial MOT station.

Oh man!
that is a pimp-waggon!
Time has passed, and I have loved many women. And as they've held me close, and asked if I will remember them, I've said, "Yes, I will remember you." But the only one I've never forgotten is the one who never asked.

Speaking of vans, what do you use for extra security with all that equipment in the back ?
http://www.roofrackshop.co.uk/van/armap ... curity.htm
or more like the hasp and shackless kryptonites/van vault ?
Recommendations ?
It's all about the tension . . .
