Safe lock cutaways

Postby n2oah » Wed Jun 14, 2006 6:29 am

I'm looking for pictures of a safe lock cutaway because I want to make a cutaway of this LaGard 2200. I have no real idea where to cut except for near the fence. I know devildog had a cutaway of some safe lock, and it would be great if he could post it.

ask and ye shall receive...or something like that. This is a factory Ilco cutaway. The lock is a S&G 6730 knockoff, and although it would normally be displayed with the back plate on, I think that's really stupid if you're using it as a cutaway, as you can see so much more of the lock with the back off.

By the way, lockmasters is the one that sells those nifty plastic safe lock mounts, ask a lockie on here to order you some if you want.

Thanks much! How much are the mounts? I'll probably end up making one out of a scrap piece of acrylic (plus I have some leds to add dramatic lighting!) The LG 2200 has a little spring that blocks the bolt when the back cover is off, but I can just pop the spring out to bypass that.

Yes, that's the relocker. Look at the back of mine again to see how I've handled that :D

Not sure how much the mounts are, I talked to some guy on ebay who was selling a lot of these mounted locks, and he said he'd sell 'em to me for 10 bucks a piece, and when I received them the return address was Lockmasters, so I figure what he did was just place an order with them and give them my address as the shipping address. A lockie on here with an account with Lockmasters can help you there more than I can.

The picking of things high security is strictly for the advanced forum as is any bypassing and all auto discussion but as said the 'how things work' threads are no fair game as long as its just the locks, safe discussion and how the lock works on the safe is still advanced.

Sorry to butt in and I'm not trying to inflame the situation but I know safe locks are an advanced category, but cutaways are no secret just as with any pin-tumbler lock or Medeco cutaway, Anyone of us can take a cutaway Medeco and see it's weaknesses just as most lock manufactures give a Spec sheet online, same as safe locks, all my cutaway pics are from Safe Lock manufacture's websites. If the previous posts are privileged Info then most everything in these forums should be Restricted, any newbie with bad intentions can take every bit of information on homemade tubular picks and startup there own little city wide vending machine opening tournament, you know what I mean... Grant it some topics should be monitored so they don't escalate to privileged information, But that in mind thats probably what happened here in regards to monitor before escalation. If so then I appologize for the intrusion, and please disregard.

Wasn't it already resolved as a nonissue?

I'm making my own cut aways, could do with some of those lockmasters mounts though. Anyone got an account?

Here's a couple of pic's. Coloured wheels are for easy of identification.

the colored wheels are a very nice touch. I'm quite envious off all that you cutaway-ists do. When I get a better clue I'll have to try myself. My boss (I work for an interactive entertainment company) built an acrylic safe lock, so that you can see each part of the mechanism. It's oversized and fairly simple, but quite neat.
