Click the picture in my post and look for the begineers pickign exorcise,

Briefly, you put tension on and then try the pins, if they all stay up then you are useing too much tensiopn, if none of them will set you arent useing enough, you keep going until just one pin will set, that is the correct tension to use and that is also the first pin to set,

Its a fundemental feature of picking but also without the proper tension the whole process will not work, its a try it and see,

Perhaps you meant to write it in a PM, but instead wrote it in a wrong window or tab in your browser? The same thing happened to me, and someone managed to get a rather random PM, whilst what I had intended to write was posted in a thread by mistake.

Barring that youhave to look at account theft, but I think the former is more likely. :)
Time has passed, and I have loved many women. And as they've held me close, and asked if I will remember them, I've said, "Yes, I will remember you." But the only one I've never forgotten is the one who never asked.

Legal to ship to Toronto, Ontario, Canda?

Postby Karl J » Sat Aug 25, 2007 1:09 am

I am new to lock picking and to this website. I am trying to place an order for http://www.lockpickshop.com/C1510.html to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but I do not know if it is legal (will the shipment be stopped at the border etc.) I have gone to Southord which directed me to Lock Pick Shop which directed me here to this site. Now, I know these companies cannot assume responsibility for seized orders nor should they be expected to know all the laws to the various countries they ship to but has any member here ordered a lock pick set from Lock Pick Shop to Ontario with no problems? and how much was the shipping charge?
Thanx in advance,

Karl :D

I have not ordered from lockpickshop.com, but I have ordered picks from a retail supplier in the States several times before... and I have never had any problem.

On top of whatever your supplier charges you, the import cost will vary, depending on how the package is shipped. Regardless of how it arrives, you will be charged 6% GST and 8% PST on the order total. If the item is shipped by regular U.S. Mail (USPS), Canada Post will charge you around $15 (plus 6% GST) extra for the import brokerage. In contrast, if it's sent by courier, expect to pay significantly more: UPS will charge between $50 and $65 extra for brokerage fees on a small- to mid-sized order (plus 6% GST, of course).
