Belsaw K-350 Key Duplicator Machine

I recently acquired a Belsaw key duplicator machine, the only markings I can find is "K-350" and "Belsaw". The motor is a Dayton 1/15 HP 115V motor capable of 5000 RPM.

Anyone know anything about it? I obviously need to get a belt for it, but that's simple. Operation is straight-forward but it would be nice to have part numbers, and official instructions particularly if I eventually sell it. Really I was hoping for an instruction manual. See photos for additional info.

looks similiar to the FB 200 machine I recently received with the course. Just older and used. Should be pretty simple to figure out. Allen Screws on ends for the cutting guide adjust it left and right for spacing. Hex bolt and allen screw on back of guide adjust depth. Set shoulder of keys against shoulder guide and clamp. My machine came with two depth setting keys with a V cut in the middle. Looks like it has the duplicator cutter on it. Anyway hope this helps, any questions then ask away. As for parts youd surely have to cantact FB I think since its their machine. Cheers

Mods: Correct me if I'm going against the grain here, but if I did get a copy would it be reasonable for me to post it online as a PDF or something with a link from here? I've spent the past month searching for such a thing and it seems reasonable to help others that will likely fall into the same quandry... I figure since the company doesn't seem to produce the machine anymore, and just looking at the cutter, the copyright is probably long over... Thoughts?

If you find a copy online its fine to link to it, if its now unavailable and copy right has run out its fine to pdf 'it and post a link here,

The motor is a sewing machine motor as common on a lot of these machines, if you have problems with that (common with machines that dont have a belt :roll:

the seller thinks it pulls the wool over your eyes) they are easily available and very cheap,

The one in my laser machine went not so long ago and i simply got one off ebay.

What do you mean about the seller thinking it pulls the wool over your eyes? That they sell it with a sewing machine motor and then don't provide a belt because it wasn't the motor it came with?

No i mean the mortors often are burnt out on old machines bought second hand, they dont sell them with a belt as no load on the motor will not make it spark or stutter so much if it works at all, im not saying this is the case here at all just making a comment,

Sewing machine motors are standard fit from factory on a lot of machines, they are just used by both and just a motor,

Pulling the wool over your eyes is a saying meaning conning you,

I just aquired one of these machines as well, with out a motor. I plan on looking online for a sewing machine motor. But if anyone has original documentation for parts, or a link online, I would love to see it. Please post it or PM me.

I've got an extra manual for the FB 200 machine, I just called and asked for it. I don't even think I had to give my student number. the FB website has a toll free that will let you call their shipping dept.

I found motors like the ones required here at my local Farm/country store (in Ontario Canada we have TSC's, across the country we have Princess Auto's that carry stuff like that), they're not hard to find. The belts they sell for these things are just a piece of round rubber cut to length and soldered, should be easy to find/make.

Could you take a digital picture of the belt so I can get and Idea of how to connect the two sides of the loop? I just picked up a sewing machine motor, which shrub suggested, and it comes with a belt.
I am going to try out what I am getting and see how it works. I will post results and pics here.

unfortuanly, I am unable to post a pic... don't have the wherewithall on this computer yet.

basically, like I said, it's a rubber loop. the ends are soldered/joined end-to-end, so as to make it as close to round as possible.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'm very interested in the results.

I ordered a sewing machine motor from Ebay, it is able to go 7000 rpm, and has an adjustable speed foot pedal. It also comes with spare motor brushes and a belt, so if I am able to get it up and running I will post pictures.
