Nice work. I wonder which of the hooks you'll end up liking best, or if you'll end up modifying any of them.
cjames already filled you in about Plasti-Dip, so I'll suggest polymer clay like Sculpy or Fimo. It should be available from a craft store. I've used it for handles and I kind of want to see what others can do.

this is a REALY great set, they are all orginized by color.... i imagine they are very comfortable and work well, the case is perfect, overall it is way better than my southord set!

first off all thanks for all the replies to this poste (personly i dont think this is my most interresting post)

the set has grown by 30 picks and 20 tention tools (i will poste som pictures as soon as i work out how to use my new camera )

thanks for all the advice on handel making . . . but i think i will make them from 2 pices of wood squest an glude around the handel . . . but more about that later

the picks is made form plumming snake and the the leather is from an old sofa i found on my way home from work ! you can find more info in my old poste "some home made hook picks"

my next project is to make a 100 pice pick set . . . .but it may only be made from materials i have got/found for free . . . .so the only cost is glue, sand paper and cutting blades for the drimmel

Very, very nice set you've made yourself. I also make my own picks but havn't still settled on what design and materials to use. So it is awesome to be able to see what fellow pickers have come up with.

Regarding Plasti-Dip I've used it on several picks myself, and I would have to say the handles it makes are hard to beat in terms of effort spent and finished result. I usually like a little thicker handles and Plasti-Dip makes that easy with multiple coatings. I do really like wood handles, they're light, easy to hold, removes little to no feeling, looks nice but is alot of work to manufacture. I am looking into using old handles from kitchen utensils or something similar.

One drawback that I've noticed with any sort of soft handle (like tape etc) is that with softer pick materials it tends to be a bit too easy to bend. So depending on how I grip the pick it might sometimes curve slightly, which sometimes makes it harder to navigate the tip of the pick inside the lock. This is probably because the sewer rod I'm using for pick is a bit too soft, I've not had this problem with picks made from hacksaw blades.
