detail work with an angle grinder is certainly quite hard. What you may want to try doing if you want to use an angle grinder is mount the angle grinder and then manually feed the piece. The primary tricky here is you obviously don't want to be using your hand to do this, however if you use one of the $5 C clamps with a decent handle you can do it in a relatively safe way. I tried this for a bit, but the cutoff wheels for angle grinders are also generally a bit thick for making the proper cuts for locks, so if you can afford it try a dremel, if you can't good luck with the angle grinder:)

It may not be pretty, but as long as you have all of you fingers left, good job

WOW im glad you made it out alive after using dynomite on that lock. Yeah what mitch said is the cheapest way to go if you have the equiptment already. If not pick yourself up a cheap band saw and go to town. But the key is secure whatever your using to do the cutting and feed the piece into it like mitch said.

I found myself on an out of town job and needed my Primus plug holder. Using a Schlage 6pin shell, and a hacksaw, it did the cutout of the main shell quick and clean. I finished the sidebar guide with a file. I'll have to try a regular cut away cylinder that way, perhaps the dremel on the pin chambers. I think you did great using an angle grinder.
Don't believe everything you think.

What brand is/was that anyway, it's a "Cut-Away" alright, no questions
asked.

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

I felt a great disturbance in the force - as if millions of pins suddenly cried out in terror and were silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
LOL! Great job at getting that pin stack visible!

I bet you wasted a lot of time to do that. I know how long you have to wait when doing something with a grinder. Anyway, good work. It's not a work of art (or maybe it is) but as long as it serves it's purpose.
