For keyways like Yale you want to go for the slimline sets.
You'll use the same 2 or 3 picks but probably a multitude of tension wrenches. I've had people report back to me that the 5 and 9 piece sets don't work well on a small number of locks but the 15 piece sets (4 tension wrenches) do work on almost all.
Hope that helps.

I've heard people say this on this forum many times. I personally use maybe 4 or 5 different tension wrenches and frequently use more than ten picks. Just what I've become used to I suppose.

Forget the videos just read the FAQ section and download the mit guide as thats a very good starting point. Most videos about are commercialy produced so its unlikly they will appear on this site which trys to stay on the right side of the law.
Everything you need to know is on this site and your question has been asked a 100 times before so do look through the forum and all will be revealed

I'd disagree with Quin, I have both normal (US sized) Majestic picks which I got on my course and they work fine on UK sized/profiled locks and also slim stainless steel picks (HPC 2000 series).
I use the HPCs (slim picks) on higher security stuff with the Majestics for the bread and butter domestic properties.
You learn to angle the pick to suit the keyway. The slim line stuff is more expensive and in my opinion (for what it's worth) not worth getting until you decide you really enjoy picking (or earn money from it).
Don't start on Yales, they have a couple of anti-picks which will just cause annoyance - read the FAQs for locks to start on before working up to Yale.
I don't think it's worth spending money on large picksets as most of them are either duplicates or so oddly profiled as to spend their time left in the case unused.
Make extra tension wrenchs, they will improve your picking and cost next to nothing.
sledgehammers make excellent back up picks!
