Swedish lock pickers?

Postby monocultured » Tue Feb 13, 2007 6:08 am

I'm curious to see how many pickers there are in Sweden, and if any of them happen to be in Gothenburg.

I got to talking with a local smith today, looking to buy my first lock, and even though he was into lockpicking and such he didn't know of any organisations or groups doing this; he blamed the stigma of lockpicking as the reason for this sad state of affairs.

So, any swedish residents out there?

There are a few, but I haven't had much contact with anyone. I don't know of any Locksport groups in Sweden, and I haven't heard of anyone having lock picking as an really active hobby.
I'm from Uppsala, btw.

gothenburg/göteborg is named after the river at which it is located (göta älv). historically, göte is a mans name meaning "a man from götaland" (a region of sweden).

the etymology is probably interesting if you start tracing the history of the region and migrant vikings and whatnot therefrom, but i can't really tell.

but obviously the city should be promoted as "goth city" as this might bring about an influx of vampires that might heighten the level or night life.

Still hanging around, but (sadly) not very active. (Though I'd like to make a change to that when I have more time at hand.)

Here, not here

Postby monocultured » Fri Feb 22, 2008 8:47 pm

I'm still here, but not really active. I finished the lockpicking project for Uni last spring, and haven't done much more since. Currently in Sthlm.
