I know this is my first post , but i only have one question so please save the "read the faq" lines for someone else, cuz i already did!

I just received my gun this morning, and there seems to be a problem.
I think the pick itself is not working correctly.

Ok, so when i push the trigger button with the tension screw on tightest setting, the pick will hum and run without much bounce just vibrating . But when i loosen the tension screw to achieve more bounce, then try to push the trigger button again it doesnt run at all!....
heres the weird thing ,
when i remove the tension screw itself
i push trigger button and push down lightly with my other hand on the head of the pick with my finger , it will work.


Hope ive painted a clear enough picture for you guys to weigh in here.
So is this how the gun is supposed to work? or i have a faulty gun?

im assuming what i posted can be quite confusing

ok one simple question


should the gun run at every single touch of the button normally right?
like regardless of the tension screw and whatever
it should always run after touch of the button?

Yes it should always run at the touch of the button.

a lot of people think that the electric pick gun works in the same was as the manual just rapidly, there wrong my guess is you over you've been over loosening the tension screw. a good way to remedy the problem is tighten the screw all the way then put your index finger on the swing arm then begin to loosen the screw little by little until you feel some kick back once you feel it kick you've gone to far tighten it just a notch what your looking for is maximum vibration without it kicking this is the highest setting you want. on this setting it will dominate locks as long as you don't go over this setting your gun will be reliable

Its a faulty gun and you can send it in to Southord but just let them know by email and they can fix it for you.

I am sending in one today because when the pick goes into the lock (no tension wrench has been inserted) the pick just hums so I am going to send mine in...

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT DON'T EVER SEND LOCK PICKS THROUGH (USPS) UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE....UPS, DHL, FEDEX ARE FINE....BUT ITS ILLEGAL TO SEND THEM USPS FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER. !

I have a similar problem myself. The pick will vibrate but only on a very narrow range with that screw in. I push the button otherwise I just hear a click. Well I won't be sending to southord if I can help it. I'm not going to be happy paying over $40 to fix it after I just bought it. I'll contact lockpickshipshop first. I wasn't sure if it was not working properly or if it was just me.

Maybe that's the problem I'll try that method first. When I first got the pick the otherday it was easily picking locks. I see now I might have pulled the screw out too far.

I've ordered lockpicks 2 times and other lockpicking equipment countless times with USPS and never encountered problems.

Yes its illegal to send them through USPS...you may have not of had a problem but if you do...you will have the cops after you and your feet in crisco!

And why do lockpickshops send them using USPS then? I think they are the one to blame then...

I would have to not agree with your statements.. I've had countless items shipped to me USPS. (I've also shipped with USPS as me being the sender)

Maybe if one used them to commit a crime, the postal inspector could come after you since you "accessed USPS to commit a crime" but I would consider this to be a stretch.
