This is not a joke
and this lock is not a school lock
This is my own , but I don't know the combination

That is nice. But it is a school lock, and we cannot discuss that openly on this forum for obvious reasons.

Try searching this site and/or use google to search for info.. There is some out there somewhere.

Not necessarily .. it could be an end user lock . purchased at home depot
OP post a picture of the back of the lock please. That will eliminate any questions.

Read a bit here and maybe some other sites , you might be surprised at how easy that lock is to open

yes, it could very well be a end user lock. But, we need to remember, this is a school type lock, and anyone can google this thread.

... again, that is why I posted the second line of text in my previous reply. I am not trying to discourage the OP, I am simply not wanting the easy answer on here for anyone else to google search fu.

(also, if thats the correct model #, there should not be a keyway on the back)

you can see two differet models of this lock :

( only Model 2010 has an additional feature of key control for supervisory access )
My lock is Model No. 2002 - without keyway on the back side.
and this lock is not easy to open
( some site show videos how to open combination Master Padlock
- but this method is not for my lock
because my lock is High Security lock )

and so I have another question now :
- what mechanism is inside , wthat parts ?

I think your only option for getting the combination to this lock is from Masterlock. Take a look at:

no it's not a cheap school lock it realy is high security double ball locking shackle it can't be shimed the retail price is $21.00 i have a couple of them that my kid's use for their gym lockers

I have got the right combination from MasterLock
But, nevertheless, can not open my lock
Do I make what wrong?
I make in such a way ( as well as stands in FAQ ) :
1. Turn the dial 3 times to the right and stop on the first number of the sequence
2. Turn the dial to the left, pass the second number of the sequence and stop on it the second time around
3. Turn the dial to the right and stop on the third number of the sequence
4. Turn the dial to the left until it stops
5. Hold dial at stop and pull up on shackle to open lock

But the dial doesnt stop !

What can be the cause?

I just purchased one of these locks new. Same issue, combination does not work. Called MasterLock customer support and was told that some number of these do not work. They are shipping me a new lock. We'll see if it works. I get to keep the old one and may do a disassembly once the new one arrives and I can confirm it works correctly. Perhaps taking one apart make clear up what is failing.

Today I get home from work and find a package from MasterLock waiting. I open it, expecting to find the replacement 2002. They shipped a 1500D!!! Back on the phone tomorrow for another call to customer service. It's a wonder sometimes that anything gets done right in business.

Please, say me whether can the combination be changed ?
For example if original combination from MasterLock is 3-9-3, can I put later my own code?
Or this is not possible?

Original combination from MasterLock does not function.
But I do not think that this lock is broken
Maybe the former owner has changed the code ?

The combination can not be changed.

Turns out the 2002 and the 2001 are the same lock, but the 2002 is 'registered'. Since the 2002 they sent me does not open, they are now sending a replacement 2001, since the first replacement they sent turned out to be a 1500D, not what one would consider a secure lock.

I've got to say that while all the customer service folks have been polite, the results so far have not impressed me.

OK, and I may be speaking to myself here, but in case anyone is interested, the replacement for the replacement showed up. It is a 2001, identical to the 2002 but not 'registered'. Also does not open. Spent some time playing with the original 2002 and it is possible to get it opened by rocking the combination wheel after the combination has been dialed in. About one in three times you can feel the wheels line up and then get the shackle to release, but this is not reliable. This does not appear to work for the 2001, but that may be just the particular combination for it. Either I've got incredibly bad luck, or the tolerances on these locks are terrible. I'm going to try to find a local locksmith who sells these to take a look at them.
