Getting to be that time of year again...who's going? I'll be at both Blackhat and Defcon this year.

I'll be there, representing the Columbus L.I branch. Not sure who else will be there with me.
Will try and bring some unique locks to let people mess with. The more the merrier, right?

About that time of year : ) I'll be attending, of course, and also working the village most of the weekend. I'll also be at BlackHat, should anyone be attending that.
Come say hi! Apologies in advance.

Hope everyone got home safe. It was a pleasure and a privilege to meet many of you this year. I was glad to see so much interest in the village from both locksport people and newbies. Hope to see you all again next year!

I swear I thought I posted in here last night. Huh.
Anyway, The L.I and TOOOL people made a hell of an impression again this year. The presentations were fun and cleanly run, and people seemed to learn a lot. I hung around for about two hours Friday and four hours Saturday and answered questions. The feedback from the people going through was great.
Good to finally meet DougFarre and Shoebox in meatspace. Thanks, guys!
Datagram's forensics presentation is out of this world, and I'll be if he didn't have 500 people in there. It was REALLY well attended! Some kickass photos you have in there, man.
Anyway, looking forward to next year.

Heh, thanks! Schuyler was was an excellent opponent and I consider it an honor to have picked with him So for the record, it was LockNewbie21's sweet picks that let me glide through the lock so efficiently, you can see the black-and-white handled set from this pic: http://blackbag.nl/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/jgor-iceman.jpglol, as it happens that same falle-style ln21 short hook that defeated the final speedpicking competition lock got destroyed the next day in the ClusterPick challenge...but old picks never die, they just fade away. Hopefully the master is still practicing his craft and I can order a replacement...LN21, you around?

Heh, that's right, it's good to point out that the final battle was taking place between awesome homebrew picks from around LP101. I was using Bogotas (and destroyed one of my favorite ones on the Abus!) and some fresh picks from ToolyMcGee. I can only apologize to Tooly for not winning with his picks this year Picking against jgor was fantastic, I couldn't have asked to be up against a better opponent and he killed me. I was very happy with my picking this year and in that final round, he dominated. I know Barry was genuinely excited with the result, and despite losing, I was too. I can't wait to see jgor come out to Turkey next year and face down ze Germans. I came in 3rd in Gringo Warrior. Must be losing my touch! The weekend was a blast, though. Always my favorite week of the year.

They are taking their sweet time getting defcon pics up and running this year, however, if you go to flikr, search for DEFCON & have it arranged by recent photos, you can see a lot. Plenty of random people got some good shots of the village & competitions. Charlotte (not sure on the Dutch spelling), Barry's wife, was there taking gorgeous photos. Can't wait to see all of them, but Barry has posted a few to BlackBag.

YOUR PICKS ARE HOME! They are right beside me, waiting for their proper owner to reclaim them. I'm sorry I have had them for so long & I owe you a keg for your patience. Come booze it up with me & I'll return them home!
