How could you take apart an Abloy padlock without damaging it? Or must the lock be damaged?

On Abloy padlocks, there is a small hole on the side of the lock, at the heel of the hasp. Once the hasp is opened, remove the small Allen screw from inside the hole. This unlocks the retaining ring around the plug. Using the notches and a coin, unscrew the retaining ring and the plug is now accessible. Be careful to lay out the discs and spacers in order, and don't flip them.

When reassembling, be careful not to over tighten the retaining ring, otherwise you will be clamping the discs and the plug will be tight.

There is already a thread on Abloy's which covers about 7 pages. I'm not going to direct you to it because I can't be bothered to go looking for it. That's something you'll have to do a search for.

Well I took it apart but all the disks came flying out. Unfortunately I don't know what's flipped and what's in order...is there anyway to find out what order they went in by using the key or something. There is a weird looking wheel with a pertruding pin, does that go last or first, that would give me some idea about the order.

There are some very experienced Abloy enthusiasts within this thread. Trying to tell you how to reassemble an Abloy plug, from a bag of bits, is a bit beyond me as I've not had the mis-fortune. You could try one of these guys. Without me going through the whole thread again, Cormu and Prodigy spring to mind. Drop one of them a PM, maybe they can walk you through it, or perhaps point you to someone else.

Thankfully I did get it, what I had to do is put in the disks and try the key every time it took a little time because you have 11 disks and 11spots. The first spot had 11 possibilities the 10 had 10 possibilities the 9th spot had 9 possibilities and so on. But I did get it so the key works sometimes, but others it doesn't, I take the face plate off and then it works fine? I lossened the face plate than retightened the retaining screw but still I only have luck sometimes. Maybe this problem you've come across before and know the solution to. Thanks for your patience and advice.
