The cam has slipped due to wear. Usualy happens when someone has left the key in the inside and someone tries their key from the outside. The cog picks the cam up then slips back out again after 180deg. Don't waste your time repicking it back and sliping the cam as a few weeks later the same fault will occur. Just fit a new better quality cylinder.

The other way this can happen is that someone has used a worn out key , or a badly duplicated key. The tip of the key doesn't go deep enough into the cylinder to operate the cam. The cam slips and stays like that. A good key is now unable to be inserted deep enough into the cylinder.

The easiest thing you can do about this is to copy the key , cut down a few mm off the tip , so that it can operate the cylinder. Then loosen the c-clips and pull the core out a little , so you can rotate the cam into the correct position.

very common problem usually when crap keys have been used in the lock or through general wear.

replacing is the best option you know you wont be called out to repair it again then

iv come across a few cylinders where the cam is not offset but sits vertically downwards. Took me ages to get the thing out the door only when i accidentally reset the lock and it slipped straight out haha.

I am not quite shure how you took lock out without abolish anything since this is euro profile lock and cam is in that position!?

But never the less you can easily turn it in "normal" position, assuming that lock isn't broken or something
which isn't visible from your picture, by picking both side. One side will be cam jammed and the other side
will be free for turning without turning the cam.

Also this video may be could help you to get idea how cam works:

its removed as easilly as any other cylinder.

symptoms to look for when its in the door, is locking from one side but not the other. I usually get people telling me it cant be locked from the inside but works fine outside.
