Hey guys I was recently at the HOPE Con in NY so I may or may not have seen some of the guys at the Lockpicking table. Anyway down to business.
Someone bought a Black & Decker padlock, (though I can't find it on there website anymore which means they may not sell it anymore or it could be a low selling product) and left it on the table for picking.
Well I was pretty inconsistent on sometimes picking it open and not opening it there. So after the con when I brought it home to practice more on I found out that you could release the shackle by pushing the pick against the heel and the toe of the padlock.
If this is in the right forum or not so if admins can move thanks.
Also I cut the lock open and if I get a camera I can hopefully upload pictures so you can see first hand at the blunder of Black & Decker or there knock off of a Masterlock No.1. lock.

Oh for clarity I pressed the heel and toe of the lock from within the keyway by putting my pick in normally and not by shimming in case anyone brings that up.

Thats actually not to uncommon on some of the cheaper and/or older padlocks in my experience.
I have a couple padlocks with that same bypass, and even some non other kinds of locks are vulnerable to this same exploit.

I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction, i was hoping i couuld find a list, kinda like a glossary, of locksmithing terms, it would make my reading this alot easier as i am a beginner and have no idea what the heel and toe is!!!
