CRACKING DUDLEY LOCKS

hey im new and i just wanted to know if there is some sort of secret way to crack the dudley laock other than the other theory

i have a dudley lock and i know 0 of the numbers. Can someone tell me how i would go about cracking it? I know i read all for pages and theres about 20 theorys and some arn't working and some are so can someone set things straight for us noobs!

Heres a little things that might help use make a good theory. On the back of every dudley lock, at least the new ones there is a letter. My has the letter 'H'if someone else has one with the letter 'H' on it maybe my last digits are the same as theres....

I have read these instrustions mamy mamy times but i cant crack the code...does anybody know where there is a site that we can go to where we put in the serial no and get the code?

there should be a site where we can put in the s/n and get the code or some other way we can find out the code without knowing any of the #s

It probably wouldn't be this site, because here we concentrate on lock PICKING (and some manipulating) not "the quickest way" which is normally bypassing and NOT a topic for discussion on this site.

but we dont wnat to like go around and picking locks people might think were criminals or something and there might be some on this site trying to find out ways to break in to houses and things. and there wont be any criminals on any site that tells you how to crack dudley locks because no1 would put a dudley lock on something important

And for sure we don't want no1 to think that we are up to no good even tho we might be but we are just wanting to learn things for the future cause someday I might just lock myself out of my house cause I locked the hasp with the combo lock not knowing I would later forget the combo it is not like I am breaking in or out cause I own it.

aman, really think about what you are suggesting. Lets see how any of this situations strike you. You have a locker in a high school. You use a Dudley lock to secure it. Someone looks up the combo on this site, and....

1.) Your books get stolen. They are worth far more than you realize
2.) Someone steals your work, and uses it as their own. This is far far more valuable than you will realize, at least for a few more years.
3.) Someone steals your coat/clothing/walkman/Ipod.
4.) Your locker is near a bathroom. Someone decideds to stash their.....well stash in your locker. You get busted/arrested for something you had nothing to do with.
5.) Someone doesnt like you, decideds to build a smoke bomb, put it in your locker. Looks to the cops like you were attempting to blow up the school.

All of these scenarios are based in FACT from highschools in my area. Still think that open access for the codes is a good idea?

alright i take that back but there still should be a way to find out your combo if u forget it other than writing it somewhere and u know thats true if u forget your combonation and theres alot of important things in your locker what are u going to do if the schools not willing to cut it open

It's called learning by experience, something we all do as we grow.

If you buy a new combination lock and you think you might forget the combination, then of course you learn to write it down somewhere. If the lock is on your school locker, then you can keep the combination written down at home.

Also, if it is a school locker, you will be opening it several times a day, so I don't quite see how you can forget the combination?

If you forgot the combination over the summer recess, then try using your subconsious. The combination will still be hidden in your memory, you just can't recall it. So just go up to the lock and turn the wheel to open it, without thinking too much about what you are doing. You will likely find that your fingers remember which numbers to turn to without help from your brain. It is amazing how often this technique works.

Unfortunately, trying to recall from you subconsciousness a combination for a lock that you haven't used since gr.8 will be a bit of a stretch...

You know, I've read a lot in this forum about Dudley locks and how there are 20 notch parts... I've played w/ my lock for about 3 days now and I've found only 10 notch positions. (The word notch is used to refer to the section of 3-5 digit numbers on my lock, which only after yanking @ the shackle and turning the dial does it stick within a section) For example, and people w/ Dudley locks may help me clarify, 57-1 is one notch. Here are the rest of the notches (or "stick" sections):

57-1
3-7
9-13
15-19
21-25
27-31
33-37
39-43
45-49
51-55/56

These are approximations... but there are only a total of 10 sections, (yet I've read that there are 20?!) and so... if someone else can try that out w/ their Dudley that'd be great.

In addition, there are 3 numbers in the combination... however, would any of the the numbers in the combo be repeated? Such as 33-#-33 ?! I'm hoping not...

So, my theory is, taking into consideration the 10 notch parts and the fact that Dudley locks (are made cheaply and for students who use them often) there shouldn't be too many combinations... and if you refer to my notch examples above, a combo of 33-10-54 would actually be the same combo as 34-13-56

... I dunno, that's just what I think.
Any thoughts would be welcomed.

A person CAN remember a combo for many years. I just found an old set of Master combos that have the same combs. Eight years ago, my brother needed to know the combo to one of them. He came up with a 'nemonic' (sp) that I still remember.

36 2 8 Was the combo. He stated it was just like a Packer game score. 36 to 8, and we are losing.

Needless to say, the Packers are doing better now, and I still remember that darn combination.

MrB is definately right on that one. Althroughout highschool I "didn't know" my combination but I could go to the lock and dial it without looking easily. Just programmed into memory. Coming back from winter break always brought out the panic because the first thing is always "Do I remember the combination?" Well I never did, but I could dial it easily.

Could some one crack my lock combination. I got it open once and stupidly forgot to write down the numbers as I went . The only number I know for sure is the second number which is 32. I also know that the last number is in the 50's. I want to use it for my locker becuase it still works. Also it's one of the only locks that hasn't been stolen so it's lucky . It's a dudley lock and i've had it since the fourth grade if that changes anything.
