I used to work for Boing Uk for a year or so, until I was bullied out by Mike Clifford. I arranged for my Solicitor to take them to court for "Constructive Dissimal" only to find out that Mike Clifford has done a runner from the company and HM customs/revenue!! It turns out he has been paying the staff's National Insurance or some tax for the past 2 years. I have since received a notice from HM Customs/Revenue regarding it. Also the company Boing UK Ltd went into administration on 27th January 2010, however is now being run by someone else. I have plenty more information on the new owners/procedures/contracts which are stuck to! If anyone needs it private email me and I'll fill you in.

I am doing this because I too like some of you guys have been shafted by Boing UK and Mike Clifford!

Boing UK Ltd. have ripped me off for years but I was foolish enough to let them keep on letting it happen until recently.

I knew something was getting dodgy late last year when another company had been set up called Rapid Secure Ltd. who were carrying out emergency boarding in all areas where Boing UK were operating with the Police and were also advertising on various job webites for carpenters. West Midlands Police were informed about this but I was told that the 2 companies wasn't linked in any way at all, however now Boing UK have gone bump and now out of the blue - Boing Rapid Secure Ltd. has been set up and they are now taking all Police work - so we can see now why work has been very slack as common sence would tell you they have been pushing all the boarding up their own way.

All we were informed from Boing UK was that Mike Clifford had retired and that Boing UK had been taken over by Boing Rapid Secure Ltd. and that a new contract had been drawn up and we were to re-sign and things would continue.

It would be good to find out how many have also been screwed over by them - as I know many companies who have been working for them over the past few years have not been happy with them at all.

I find this thread extremely strange since I have worked for Boing UK for many years now.

I have made quiet literally thousands and thousands of pounds from the work they provide from the Police. They have provided me with some much work that I have been able to expand my company considerably. I also know a number of other contractors that have also made considerable sums from them.

Yes sometimes the calls do drop off from time to time, mostly due to the time of year and the rate of crime in the area.

I accept every call they give me, and whilst I do have a number of jobs that I have difficulty obtaining payment for I also have many more that I do get paid for, easily making up for it.

I do understand that your experience may differ to mine, but that is mostly due to the police forces that you are signed up to work for. From what I gather from speaking to the staff in the response centre, the different police forces have different agreements to what they or the owners of properties pay for. Some better and some worse.

Like I said though I accept all the work they throw at me, even if it is 4am in the morning and I'm hung over, I answer the phone and get one of my guys on the jobs. The more work you accept then the more money you make and you lower your ratio of bad calls to good calls. It could be that you are missing out on work because your contactors on call are not answering the phones, are asleep when the work is coming in and lie to you about it the next day. Or you cannot be bothered to answer the phone yourself, because you are lazy. The proccess of rotation of different contractors is religiously adhered to at Boing, because I have tested it with other contractors I know on their books, so all this talk about them favouring one contractor over another is purely unfounded speculation.

Boing is now under a new owner from what I understand, and under a slightly different name, and everything from what I understand is running exactly the same as before.

It is a shame that you have had bad experiences from Boing. I would suggest that it is possibly due to the Police forces themselves and not actually Boing.

Boing Employee? I do contractor work for them if that is what you mean. I certainly don't work for "Boing" if that is what you are implying.

This simply came up on a websearch and I thought I would throw in my 2 cents, since like I said, my experience of Boing has been pretty good. You seem to have basically had a lot of disgruntled people replying to your thread about Boing UK. Ex Employee's who probably were not doing their job properly, and annoyed contractors that Boing has taken business from.

People complain about every business on earth, but for every complaint there are probably thousands of satisfied customers.

In Boing's case, I am very satisfied.

in my experience people only go googling company profiles when they hear bad things.

You may be a happy sub contractor but peoples opinions generally seem to be negative...

thus why i didnt go ahead with it.

And to be fair the woman i spoke to was a tad rude when i mentioned my concerns...

I have it on good authority that Boing Rapid Secure Ltd. are 'Rapidly' loosing the police contracts in some of the areas so as from next year I'll be happily carrying out police work again and not paying stupid registration fee's and getting back to normal and picking up regular work again. I don't know whatever the police were thinking in switching over to this bunch of money grabbing swines!

agreed i was speaking to a police officer a few days ago about this very issue. She confirmed that a lot of people were unhappy.
Apparently if the police have your contact details with them, they will always advise the customer to call you, if they dont have any details to pass on then BOING gets the work.

Iv done quite a few jobs lately where police have given my card out.

All comes good in the end

How's things going guys - you still getting the work coming in from the Police?
I'm getting plenty still and hoping for a great winter now the dark nights are coming through - my phone is starting to hot up a little!
