Hi,

I have a good surprise for you. :D :D :D
I made an autopsy of my Abus Granit X Plus 54, for you show, how works special mecanical systeme X (blocking discs)
I worked very hard, because I can't speak english, but I wanted to try to comment in english for you. I hope you are going to understand, and you are going to enjoy this autopsy (videos 1 and 2) .

If you don't understand something, tell me what, I will answer to you with pleasure.

Hi Marco,

thanks for the useful video, a clear and complete explanation of this lock 8)
Even your pronunciation is not bad, you're speaking loud and clear.

By the way: your father is right, it's a lot easier to disassemble than to reassemble!

Cheers :)

Hi,

When I began to pick the disc padlocks, I began by the chinese disc padlocks. I picked a lot. :D :D :D
I would advise you to begin to pick by chinese disc padlocks. It will be more easy for you in the first time, beaucause the chinese disc padlocks haven't false gates, just have right gates. But, something is very, very, very funny    , when you will be able to pick the disc padlocks Abus, it will be lot easier for you to pick disc padlocks Abus than to pick chinese disc padlocks.

Why ?

Beaucause the chinese disc padlocks have a bad mecanic, and more you will pick a chinese disc padlock, more its mecanic will become bad.
The same disc lock with a bad mecanic, you can open in few seconds, or more ten minutes.
It's incroyable and very frustrating.

So, when you will be able to pick the disc padlocks Abus, you will want to pick just the Abus, beaucause you more will enjoy picking disc padlocks Abus than chinese disc padlocks.
But, it would be a mistake to do not more pick chinese disc padlocks.

Here my study on different brands chinese disc padlocks.

Here the first chinese disc padlock, that I picked and the tool (detainer) that I used for pick all my chinese disc padlocks

Here 4 chinese disc padlocks "FORLYING" with their own key

Here 8 chinese disc padlocks "TLAN"

Here their own key

Here 2 chinese disc padlocks "COGEX" with their own key

Here 15 chinese disc padlocks "SDLDEX"

Here their own key

Here 1 chinese disc padlock "ROBSON" with its key

Image

Here on the left chinese padlok "ROBSON" and on the right chinese padlock "COGEX" with their key

Here above ROBISON's key and down COGEX's key

Conclusion :

Point of view picking difficulty , it's the same.

See you soon.

It's amazing how you line up all these locks.

Thank you so much for posting all of that, I found it fascinating and learnt plenty of things I did not know before.

I found it easy to understand too, do I detect a Francophone accent? :)
Time has passed, and I have loved many women. And as they've held me close, and asked if I will remember them, I've said, "Yes, I will remember you." But the only one I've never forgotten is the one who never asked.
