This lock is also fairly common as an additional locking mechanism in Sweden (neighbouring country to Finland, see Jaakos message), usually apartment doors. In fact, I have exactly this lock on my current apartment's door. And of course I use it since I am a fan of lever locks.

This is a scandinavian security lock. Its used in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Maybe more places dont know.

They use it as an extra lock on apratment doors. Not for everyday use, but if you go on vacation etc. Its also used on private bank boxes and for goverment security.

I have seen this picked with a homemade 3 in 1 tool where the front tip had tips on both sides.

I do not have experiance with this lock myselft, but i have just bought one and will have a look at it as soon as i get it.

I know this topic was started a long time ago, but people seem to be still interested.

This lock resembles the SERCAS/JUWEL lock, and has identical dimensions, apart from the S/J-lock having an extra #7 cut, deeper than that of boda.

So, a S/J tool will open the BODA, but not vice versa.(I know this since I am making my own decoder for both).

Even with this tool, it takes a fair bit of skill to pick it.

I am uncertain if we are supposed to discuss opening techniques of this lock in the open forum. Moderator, please reply?
