HPC Dental-Style

What about HPC Dental-Style pickset? Opinions,Experiences.....I'm not looking for "for-buyers" infos....just wonder if someone has tried it.

I've never used these or seen these used in action, but the idea behind their construction seems solid enough. I'm also fairly sure that HPC wouldn't allow their brand name to be listed on a product they had little or no confidence in, so I am guessing these are well crafted, good quality picks.

The problem I'm seeing is that this is an extremely expensive set of -very- few picks. So far the cheapest I've seen these listed as is €68 EUR (about $95 USD, or £59 GBP), so you're spending nearly €23 EUR per pick! While the dental style design makes them interesting I cannot see any justification for spending that much money on only 3 picks.

If you're curious about them you could get them and try them out, but I personally am not so curious about them to spend that much on that little.

I'm also thinking that they are very well crafted....but I'm also thinking that is an extremely expensive set of few pick. That's why I'm asking for someone experience....cuz I'm not so curious for buy it....but curious enough for trying to understand why they cost so much.....if the price is a real value for money...or just crazy!

i know some guys from a locksport group who ordered some dental sets. so i was able to test the dental set.
in my opinion, it´s nice to have but not necessary. the standard hpc-picks are good enough.
btw: the dental-picks oftener comes with faults in the material or cheesy manufactured and damaged during the first use than the standard hpc´s.

i have it, and apart from the rake i find it hard to use.

little control when SPP'ing. I find the end of the hooks too big, it seems like sometimes it feels like i push 2 pins at the same time. It's quite soft at the shaft too, so my hook is out of shape =p

The biggest grip I have with it (apart from the price) is the round handles. I find the picks keep rotating if i don't concentrate on it.

Maybe it's just me though, as I'm still an amateur.

Im a locksmith and I bought the hook, just out of curiosity.
I find it bulky and difficult to use, too large to fit inside a pick case and an all around waste of money. But it SURE LOOKS PURTY sitting on my desk!! I would take a sanded HPC or Peterson any day over this thing. Id even sell it to you if you'd like. Or trade for something. PM if interested.

They are really nice looking picks, but also are terrible for picking! my friend have them... and my opinion is negative:

-cost too much, 105€ on multipick-service and £59.99 on ukbumpkeys for 3 picks and 1 tension wrench... but ok, maybe they look good...
-personally don't like the snake (but for raking i like only bogota....)
-big hook for many euro-locks, don't know how it will work with americans, me and my friend adapted it a bit and sanded, but it's still not the greates hook of all time... many better hooks
-round handle is terrible! mean, it's not impossible to use, the feedback is great, and they are nice crafted so the pick will not slip out of your hands, but the normal handles are really more confortable

final personal rank: not worth the money, even if you consider they nice. but if you really want them i'll not try to stop you, money is your
