Can someone clarify what "uncombinated" means, please?

Postby cyrano138 » Fri Mar 30, 2012 12:20 am

I've done the search on this forum and on the interwebs in general and this is the best I could come up with: uncombinated
1. adj. of or pertaining to a cylinder which is or is to be supplied without keys, tumblers and springs 2. of or pertaining to a lock, cylinder or key in which the combination has not been set

I'm asking because I found some inexpensive Best SFIC cores on ebay, but they're all uncombinated, and even after reading this definition I'm still not sure what they'll be missing or what I'd need to do to be able to practice on them. Can anyone clarify? Thanks in advance!

Sorry if this has been addressed and I missed it.

In the lock world uncombinated generally means “0” bitted ( a blank key will open it) or without pins , drivers and springs. In the case of a SFIC it most likely means no pins at all . very easy to pick :D

Thanks for the help!
