Dear all,
I deal with quite a bit of real estate related work and I'm thinking about investing in a code key cutter.
I'm in Australia and I mainly deal with C4, X66, X95 (these two have C4 spacing I believe), TE2 and LF31R (wafer).
I'm thinking about investing in the ITL 950C. By the sound of it, it sounds like a pretty easy machine to use. From what I can gather you just put the code in and it "spits out a key. Is that correct? This is one of the reasons I'm preferring it over the HPC Blitz 1200 (ie. less fiddling around for repetitive cuts).
Also, I'm sure that the C4 spacing would be quite common, but would it know TE2 and the wafer codes?
Could someone please let me know.
Thanks heaps

You can supply the information needed for the machine if it isn't in its database. The HPC 1200 though is really simple to use.

Yeah, but it seems a bit fiddley for repetitive cuts I think... Wouldn't the ITL be better for those?

Possibly. Normally we cut a code key and then duplicate on another machine. If you plan to originate all keys then the HPC would be a bit fiddly. It all depends on volume I guess. We probably cut 75 to 350 keys a day, occasionally more. However only a small percentage are keys we originate.

Yeah that's what quite a few locksmiths do. I don't doubt doing that. But, I am quite a perfectionist to be honest. I believe than original key should actually be original. Because, I believe that every time you copy a key using a duplicator it becomes a little worse. And plus people will probably end up getting that copy cut too, which results in a copy of a copy... Also, I find that duplicators often leave a mark/engraves where it traced the key out and sometimes. I don't know if that's good or not... I plan to originate nearly 100% of my keys. Probably not that many a day, but I want to keep it as simple as possible I guess. Does anyone else have any thoughts about the ITL 950C? Thanks

I wouldn't recommend having a computerized key cutting machine as your only option as they can fail like any computer can. I would recommend having an ITL950C and a 1200 Blitz or better yet, A 1200 Blitz and a Codemax.

Hmm okay.
But I'm just wondering on what everyone's experiences with the ITL950C is. Ie, if it's a good machine, and its cons and pros.
Thanks heaps
