I have a lock picking question. I am new at this, but I am learning everday. I have manually picked every lock in the house except the one I wanted to pick. Its a key lock with pins. When I pick the lock it opens one quarter of a turn ccw and stops. there must be some sort of security stop. When I look into the cylinder there are two raised round nubs on the bottom. How ever these nubs do not push down with a pick. Also note I removed the door stop to see if I could see the bolt. Its a actual bolt. It is locked and does not move. My kid put this lock on his door to keep his mother out. She thinks he is smoking pot. I don;t know if I gave you enough information. The handle for the lock and the keyway are both horizontal not vertical. What do I have here? Thanks MD

I would love to see a picture of the keyway for that lock. I just can't imagine what it looks like in my mind.

When the kid is at school, simply remove the lock, and replace it with a passage set.

Tell DD to have a talk about trust with the child, not to pick locks around the house.. and if your teen is living in your house, then it is your house, so putting a lock on the door against your wishes already says the kid thinks he can do whatever he wants and doesn't trust or respect your rules.

Remove door from hinges and put hinge pins away somewhere.. no door, no problem.
