Hi everyone,

I am new to locksport but I always enjoyed playing with locks since I was a kid.I have read posts on this forum for the last year or so but finally signed up a few weeks ago.I hope to make new friends with similar interests and talk tools and locks with other people who understand this hobby and don't think it's strange.I started out with the cheap Klom,Goso,and some southord tools but I stepped up to the plate with a big order from Peterson.Some of the tools I ordered are the Euro slenders 0.18 set and the new Bogies.I couldn't find any reviews or user feedback on these new tools ,does anyone have them and if so what do you think about them?I have my practice lock from mr.wizard and can't wait for my original Raimundo Bogota set to come in!!I look forward to talking to everyone!I love locks and tools lol.I started making tension wrenches and am learning how to sand and polish picks too.

Welcome, there is so much info on this site it is amazing. And it is an obsession... so if you have an addictive personality it is perfect for you! A lot healthier than other addictions, although in cost it may be about the same as a hard core heroin addiction... Just kidding, but some of the equipment that I have seen makes me wonder (and drool)... You should add your location to your profile so it will be easier to connect to groups and whatnot. Not to mention that giving advice on locks can very a lot from region to region. Have fun!

I own almost a full set of the Peterson slender .015's and just a couple of the .018's with my favorite profiles. I really like the slender line up (compared to Peterson's normal picks ~.025)because it leaves a lot of room in the key way but you just need to be careful about the amount of force you use but I personally have not had any issues with them and the .018 line up is the same thickness as my first pick set (not Peterson) so using the .018's I have the same amount of wiggle room as my normal go to set just with better grips/handles. I get great feed back from them as well and of course recommend them. Hope that helps.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!I updated my location.This is my first time joining any type of forum,I am learning as I go lol.It is easy to get sucked in and want to order all kinds of locks and tools.I am hoping the euro slenders will give me more room to practice SPP in tight keyways but still retain most of the firmness of the euro 0.25 picks.I will find out tomorrow or Friday when they come in lol.I already have the pry bars and I love them I think they are great for left handed pickers I have been turning my padlocks and deadbolts upside down and using TOK)I am able to open most of my simple padlocks and two cheap deadbolts by SPP but I'm gonna keep practicing as I'm having so much fun!I will post pictures of my tools when my new stuff comes in (after I figure out how to upload them)I love looking at other peoples tool pics and I want to contribute.

Yes the Peterson tools are amazing, I am currently working on an American lock full of serrated spools, serrated key pins, and serrated driver pins. So I have my work cut out for me. The Peterson tools seem to give me the best feedback of any picks I have used to date. I own both the regular and slender Euro and the .018. Love them !

I am happy to hear that!I am still waiting for them to come in .Peterson didn't even ship my order until 7-8 days after I ordered it even though I received a order confirmation soon after placing my order.They did send it priority 2 day mail according to an email they sent me so I hope it comes in before the long holiday weekend shuts the USPS down

My first Peterson order was made early on a Monday morning and it was in my mailbox that Thursday so I just wasn't expecting it to take so long I only live a few states away from them lol..But this is a much larger order so maybe they only wanted to send 1 shipment and something was out of stock?I just wish if that's the case they had kept me informed of the delay so I wouldn't be disappointed every day it didn't come in.Im sure it will be worth the wait,I love my pry bars and the Gem and short hook I already have.The flat 5 is handy to have as well but I think the price could have been a little cheaper.

I ordered a set and a couple extra cases from Sparrows the same day and it came in on Tuesday or Wednesday this week and that's coming from Canada!Sparrows put a note in the package saying one of my rakes is out of stock and will be sent to me in 2-3 weeks and they gave me a deforest diamond for the delay!Im happy they shipped the next day after I ordered instead of making me wait until all items were in stock

Like many of you, I grew up with "Please allow four to six weeks for delivery", so waiting a day or two for something to to ship, and then a couple more days for it to arrive, doesn't seem too bad.

I also placed an order with Peterson on Monday. By Tuesday I received a notice from USPS that they'd been electronically notified that they should expect the package, and it actually arrived at the post office on Wednesday. Long story short, my order should arrive here, in California, today.

When I think of Peterson (No pun intended), I sometimes imagine Ken sitting at a work bench with a stack of metal stock, a grinder, a shipping envelope. Despite the large shadow he casts over the locksmith/lock sport community, I never imagine an Amazonian distribution center fitted with robotics, lasers, and automated packing. In spite of that, I can typically set my watch by his turn around time. Order on Monday, get it on Friday. Order Friday, get it by Wednesday. Odd, but I can also apply that same formula to Flake in Houston, so I don't think that Ken is doing to bad.

My Peterson order came in!! I have been trying my new tools for the last few hours lol.I am very happy with everything so far!the 0.18 euro slenders are a dream to work with and everything I had hoped they would be!They can get into tight places but are still durable and I think will be my go to picks for the time being.The 0.25 euro bogies work well and I even tried out the 0.15 slender just picks set and found them usable but I was extra gentle with them as I can see them breaking easily with a heavy or frustrated hand lol.I got the dcaps but have not tried them yet but they look good and I'm sure will work fine.I also got most of the 0.25 euro single picks in nickel plated and I tried most of them and are very happy with them as well.My only complaint is the expensive gov steel bogies should have been sent in a plastic case but only had a rubber band around them.All my euro nickel plated picks were wrapped in a rubber band as well but luckily nothing was damaged and I am very pleased and can say Peterson makes fantastic picks that are durable and give great feedback.I will try to figure out how to upload pictures of these wonderful tools soon as I know how much I enjoy seeing everyone's tools so I want to contribute lol.If anyone has any questions about these tools I'll try my best to answer them!..Hachronn,I know what long shipping times can be like (I order from Ali sometimes lol) I was just surprised because my first Peterson order came in much faster but I do appreciate your feedback!

Yes Ken may take a while to ship, but it is sure worth the wait for his wonderful picks. He has a lifetime customer with me for sure. I wish he would design a pinning mat !
