Master Lock No. 532

Postby yungning » 23 Feb 2004 12:23

hi, all

i i have been doing lock picking as a hobby for 1 month, and no problem on most of 4 and 5 pins locks. ( http://www.masterlock.com/cgi-bin/produ ... at_id=D532 )

but...this Master No. 532 really gets me crazy...most of time i can only make the cylinder rotate about 30 degree (let's suppose it need 90 degree to open), then it stop...

i think it has a few spool or orther security pins there, but i am not sure.
anyone is familiar about this lock?

hi...i've been working on the Master 575 series lock myself (http://www.masterlock.com/cgi-bin/prod_ ... =20&Go.y=2) ...it looks very similar...one thing that comes to mind is the plug has seems to have a lot of back pressure when the shackle is in the locked possition...what i did (i don't know if yours is the same way) is unlock the shackle first...once you do this it takes the backpressure off the plug...then i return the key to the original position and take the key out...the plug has no backpressure and the plug will rotate more freely...i haven't got it yet...but i'm very close...i can feel it...much closer than with the shackle locked...maybe you can do the same thing with yours...once i do it with the shackle unlocked i'll try it with the schackle locked...i have a lot of high low extremes on the key itself which makes it even more difficult...hope this info can help...can't hurt to try...by the way the plug in mine will not rotate to the left...good luck

I'm not farmiliar with this particular lock but if it is rotating 30degrees instead of 90 I would assume that it has some ani-pick pins in it. If you want to learn how to deal with those search around on the forum a bit, it has been discussed alot.
