Hey, Just a quick one...
Getting quite good at various padlocks now (Went and bought myself about 8 different Models/Types at the weekend to practice on!) I can now get into all but 1 of them with 15-20 seconds but there is still one that I cannot get into (Tri-Circle 6 pin - Brass) so i am assuming that it has security pins and I'm wondering what's the best way to deduce whether this is the case and is there any special technique/tools to opening locks with Mushroom/Spool Pins?
Cheers!

while picking this lock, do you notice it turning a wee bit and then stopping dead? That would be a sure sign of a spool or mushroom. When you pick that pin you feel the tension tool slighly moving back.
Try using less tension to pick that lock.

also try different techniques with it. Try to pick pin by pin, and rake it. Whenever i come across security pins i seem to do better raking them and using extremely light tension.
