I have been debating off & on for about 6 months whether or not to do this. I have always wanted to learn how to impression, etc. and I finally bit the bullet and sent away my registration paperwork today. My wife told me this could be my X-Mas present this year, and next year, and the year after that, etc.!!! After I have started I will let you know how it is going. I am very excited about this and if all goes well I hope to have it completed pretty fast. I did look around at 3-4 different schools and this one seemed to offer the best deal. A key cutting machine is included with the tuition and it will cut by codes too. Sorry to be so long winded but I am like a kid on X-Mas morning waiting for my first package to arrive!!!
Happy picking...

Make sure you guys post a review on the course when you've completed it. And, of course, if you need any help along the way, don't hesitate to ask.

Sure will Varjeal. I am really excited about it. And by the way paladinX, you can start for as little as $19 down and $37 a month and that's what I did. I will try and pay it off sooner but this way I can make sure I can cover the cost with no problem when money gets tight. I hope to have it done in 6-9 months but I want to make sure and do the best I can and not rush through it. After the first lessons arrive I'll let you know how they go.
Thanks again...

Just got some papers back today, and the first lesson is on the way. I'll be sending in the money next week for the second lesson, so I don't get bored. If I get anything cool I'll snap some shots and let you see.
I also have a riveted handled pickset that I'm constructing. Dun lemme forget pics of that either!

Got my first lesson today. At first glance, it really diddn't seem like a whole lot, but considering that I've only sent them $19 so far, I shouldn't expect it to be. Much of the lesson booklet is informing you of the courses offered once you complete the locksmithing course. I started getting into a bit though, and after reading the material, and the work that goes with it, I'm confident that this is going to be more than worth the money.
The lesson book has an exam, and some assignments in it. Seems like the first 5 lessons are along the lines of identifying keys, and teaching you how to duplicate keys with files, etc. Right off the bat, I was lookin' at the stuff going "Where's the letter that tells me what step 1 is?" but then, I was hit with Divine Inspiration, and I picked up the book... heh.
I'll post again after I complete the lessons, and let you know if I've had any 'changes of heart'. I don't think I will though. This course looks to be promising!

Glad to hear it paladinX. Maybe if we start mentioning lockpicking 101 they might give lockpicking101.com members a discount or something??? Anyway I am glad you decided to do it and I am sure if we get stumped there is more than enough knowledge on this website with all of our great mods and members to help us out.
