There could be an LSI chapter, or a chapter of TOOOL. Check each of their websites for details. Good luck. 8) 8) 8) 8)

ok thank you maybe find alot of people from Bristol and surrounding areas and talk about starting one. I was going to do a course at the mla but they dont teach opening techniques on the first course which costs 1445 and you have to do the opening bit on a seporate course i cant afford two courses i am already applying for funding for this one, anyone know of a good course that teaches all
thank you

Hi I would be willing to have one night a week in my front room my house isn't much but what do you need to pick and learn about locks hey just some room some mates and bits n pieces plus i am a novice i have opened a few locks but i loved it so much i am going to go on the course when i get the funding hoping for very soon, see if you can find some people interested and we can get together and disscuss things never know if we did this and put pennies in a pot each week we can hire a hall or just stay in my house would be cheaper lol

1 day a month would be more realistic, for me anyway.
i live 120 miles away from bristol and the cost of travelling every week would far outway the benefits.
are you going on the course just to learn to pick or are you going to train as a locksmith? if its just to learn lockpicking, save your money. everything you need to know is on this site and you'll learn a lot from meetings.

Postby traceybloomfield » 17 Feb 2007 11:14

well maybe once a month then, we just have to find a few that want to meet up then we can sort something out. I am going on the course to train as a locksmith, always interested me as a kid I used to pick my mums padlocks lol

Hi,

I have just found this site a few days ago and have not stopped reading it since...the amount of information is amazing!!!

I was wondering if it is still possible to join the Bristol Locksoprt group? What day(s) do you meet each month/week?

Sorry forgot to ask....what are the legal issues with a member of the public taking part in this hobby? could it be seen by the courts as a "training ground" for a would be theif/robber?

is anyone a police officer (or know a police officer) that could answer this question?

I have read other posts and im still not sure about the response if i was to take part in this.

Thank you

freedom

Postby raimundo » 18 Jul 2007 8:35

Freedom can only be preserved if it is exercised, don't start looking for directions from "authorities" they will not give you any freedom, they are about control and limiting others while they get rich off the "authority" they claim to have. Anyone can put up a sign that says "NO" but like all authority, its completely arbitrary, and all laws will be broken by the "authoritys" on the "because we can" excuse. look at the bushjunta.
Preserve freedom, be yourself, if others don't like it, screw em.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

Thanks for that Raimundo, but in my daily proffesion I am ment to be a "responsible member of society" and I do face severe consequences if cought on the wrong side of the law. One of the consequences is being pulled up to the statutory commitie at the regulatory body and the loss of my registration to practice as a result. this would mean that I would lose my day job and would lose my only source of income.

plus im sure that there are still people out there like myself who are still in the dark about carying lockpicks in the UK.
