Hi, all. First post.
I hit an Ace Hardware closing sale last month, and bought out the combo and door lock section for $0.20 on the dollar. Part of what I got was a bunch of Master 1UP Commercial locks. They seemed normal at first blush, BUT 1) there is no key 2) the cylinder is very loose and you can move it maybe 4mm in and out of the lock and 3) I can't seem to pick it.
I did a little research and you are supposed to use a punch tool to 'rekey' it, as it is a 'universal pin' padlock. At this point, I am searching for the wrong things, because I can find no more of any use. What's a universal pin padlock? How can you rekey with just a tool? What should I do with these locks? I want to keep them around for practice - should I get a punch tool? What the heck IS a punch tool?
Anyway, enough blathering. Curious to know what the group thinks. Thanks!
