Homebrew Hall of Fame!

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Homebrew Hall of Fame!

Postby omelet » 13 Feb 2005 3:16

I have sorted through the "manual" forums and compiled a list of homebrew picks done by our own LP101 members. This is by no means a complete list since I am prone to errors (I apologize to any I have neglected), but it should show some of the higher quality pictures of some people's picks...

Here are the images (that work as of now):

Hey all :)

There is a fountain of information within that url list.

It is ideal for begginers and intermediates <--for want of a better word..

Sizes, shapes and igeneral ideas can all be gained from that lsit..

Its a great idea )

I have cut away at some feeler gauges with my dremel and made some picks. I will probably make some more but I have used a whole set of gauges and don't want to buy more now. Sorry about the crap picture quality:

Image

The double sided picks were made from two picks on each side glued between two more gauges. The jacknife was made using a knife/bottle opener that I removed the blade from and replaced with two picks separated by washers, a bolt and thumb screw. I stole the ideas mostly off of bembel...thanks!

Thats really nice of you to spend the time to post them...It helps alot...

I'm gonna see if I can post a picture of my pick progress.

See the only tools I feel comfortable using are metal cutters and a file...

Nice idea to glue them together. ;)
Maybe you could post a better closeup of the jackknife thing?

I am pleased to oblige, though it took so long because I only now had access to a quality digital camera that could take the closeup images. I hope this will suffice ;)

i've got a website, its pretty crap but i can use it for anything i want, so does anyone mind if i put that list above into a page or 3 so that its easier to see the pictures rather than clicking each link, i dont know about anyone else but my pc is old and it'll take me a few hours to go through all the links! the sites address is http://www.freewebs.com/masterintraining.

if theres anything i can stick on the site i dont mind doing it. i dont know much about freewebs so im not sure about the limits to free accounts so the hosts may change at some point, but oh well!

I noticed in several of the links, the handle appears to be an exacto knife holder. Is that what it is or is it something else?

Right, I've added my picks on the the end of my page.

All made from feeler gauges, you can see the thicknesses on the side of them, spanning from the shims on the bottom left, at thousands of an inch, up to the thickest rake, at .7mm.
Loading pithy, witty comment in 3... 2... 1...
